Where Food Brings People Together

Our Story

At Gather55, every plate tells a story of connection, care, and community. We’re more than a restaurant; we’re a social enterprise of Hands On Hartford, built on the belief that food has the power to bring people together.

For more than 40 years, Hands On Hartford has provided free meals to neighbors in need. Before the pandemic, we also ran the Café at Fifty-Five, where proceeds supported our programs.

Gather55 was born from the dream of combining both efforts, a place where anyone can enjoy the same meal, side by side.

How It Works

  • Daytime Café (Mon–Thurs): Breakfast and lunch with flexible pricing, or the option to volunteer.

  • Dinner (Wed–Sat): A three-course prix fixe menu created by rotating guest chefs. Most guests pay $55, but we also set aside seats for those who cannot pay.
